If your dash cam is not powering on, this video covers a few of the more common causes and how to check them.
A member of the BlackVue support team runs through the main areas to look at, including cables, installation issues, and possible hardware faults. In many cases, the problem can be identified with a few simple checks.

1:07 – Incompatible or faulty cables
Some models use different wiring systems. Even if the plug fits, it may not supply power correctly depending on the model.
3:09 – Installation and hardwiring issues
Loose connections, grounding problems, or fuse issues can prevent the unit from powering on. Testing with a standard power cable can help isolate the problem.
4:12 – Hardware faults
Less common, but internal components can fail. If the camera still does not power on after testing cables and installation, further assessment may be required.
If the issue is not resolved after these checks, the unit may need to be returned for inspection or repair.
